Dental Agony

I don't like going to the dentist. They usually make me feel bad for not flossing and not using an electric sonicare toothbrush. I had years of orthodontic work and they berate me for not wearing my retainers to keep their years of hard work looking perfectly straight. While they use their ultrasonic tooth cleaner to remove all my built up plaque I have to go to my "special place" to shut the high pitch obnoxious squeal out of my consciousness. I thought for sure I've had almost every possible dental procedure performed on me (wisdom teeth removal x 4, spacers, headgear, cavities, full braces x 2, mature teeth removal x 8)....but today they fished out a new one....tooth electrocution to see if my nerve is still alive! They basically use a "hot" wire with a slowly increasing charge against a tooth to see if the nerve can feel it. They ground the device against the side of the mouth, and then basically it keeps going until some sort of mouth wide open moan or scream ends the session. My teeth still feel like they are touching both ends of a battery, and yes, my nerve is very much alive.

Snow in Everett!

The Lovely Rita

The best margarita in Seattle is served at the Santa Fe Cafe in Seattle's Phinney Ridge neighborhood. Starting the night off with a lovely or two cannot be matched...and make sure Chris makes your drink cause he's got the pour down just right and will even make a "mini me" lovely if going for the final drink will put ya over the edge. I need to figure out a better way to end the night now. Last night's 2 Dick's Deluxx, 3 fries, and a vanilla shake is feeling pretty nasty right now.

Yeah Nintendo!

Kudos to Nintendo's new Wii game system for requiring standing and physical activity for a lot of its games! I've only played the bowling, tennis, and golf games but it was definitely more fun involving my entire upper extremity than punching a controller with my thumb.

It's Not Fair

+ =STUPID
Gus and I have a few car games we play to keep the drive interesting. Our main game was looking for monkey trees, and whoever saw one first (had to be within 100 yards) pinched the other person. There are a lot of monkey trees in the older neighborhoods of the northwest, and some folks have planted some younger trees around our neighborhood. It is definitely a rule that once a tree has been spotted and pinched, it cannot be re-pinched. On our trip to Smith Rock there were no monkey trees so we had to switch to Slug Bug. I think at last count Gus was up 15-5. Then we dropped my camper off at a VW repair shop this evening and Gus basically took that opportunity to claim himself absolute winner on my biceps and deltoids. Stupid game anyhow.
